Exercise Physiology
Exercise Physiology delivers tailored exercise programs for injury rehab, chronic condition management, and supervised 1-on-1 or group sessions, working closely with physiotherapists to support safe return-to-activity and long-term health.
What is it
Move better, feel supported
Exercise Physiology combines evidence-based exercise prescription, functional assessments, and supervised rehab to help you recover from injury, manage long-term conditions, and optimise performance. We work closely with physiotherapists to create safe and effective return-to-activity plans, whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition, or simply wanting to move better.
Where we start
Your 1:1 initial appointment
In your first session, we’ll review your medical history, goals, and current movement patterns. From there, your exercise physiologist will assess your strength, fitness, and movement to understand your limitations and design a personalised plan tailored just for you.
How we keep moving
Your personalised plan
We provide the guidance, structure, and supervision you need to stay on track and see results. Your exercise physiologist will create a personalised program based on your needs, goals, and progress. Follow-up sessions are scheduled as required, in either 1-on-1 or small group settings.

Your questions, answered
-
What does an exercise physiologist do?
An exercise physiologist uses movement and exercise to help treat injuries, manage chronic conditions, build strength, and support long-term health and performance.
-
Do I need a referral to see an exercise physiologist?
No referral is needed for private appointments. A GP referral is only required if you’re claiming through Medicare (EPC), DVA, or WorkCover.
-
What should I wear to my session?
Wear comfortable activewear and runners that let you move freely. Bring a water bottle and towel, especially if your session includes exercise.
-
What can I expect in my first session?
Your exercise physiologist will review your history, assess your movement, strength, and fitness, and design a personalised plan tailored to your goals and condition.
-
Is exercise physiology covered by private health or Medicare?
Yes. Private health rebates are available if you have extras cover, and Medicare rebates are available with a valid EPC referral from your GP.
-
How is exercise physiology different from physiotherapy?
Physiotherapists focus on diagnosis, manual therapy, and early-stage rehab. Exercise physiologists specialise in longer-term management and recovery through tailored exercise programs.
-
Can you help with chronic health conditions?
Yes. We regularly support clients managing diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, and other conditions—using movement to improve health and quality of life.
-
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on your goals, condition, and progress. Your EP will outline a clear plan and adjust it as you improve.
-
Can I keep training while seeing an EP?
Yes. We’ll guide you on how to safely modify your training and integrate rehab exercises so you can keep moving toward your goals.
-
Do you communicate with my GP or physio?
Yes. With your consent, we’ll update your healthcare team to make sure your care is coordinated and effective.
