Physiotherapy
Get back in the swing of moving with confidence with straight-forward and personalised guidance that supports you in the long-run. Find out what’s possible at Hybrid Athletic.
What is it
Move smarter at your own pace
Physiotherapy combines hands-on treatment, movement assessment and targeted exercise programs to help you make injuries a thing of the past. Whether you’re an athlete or everyday mover, we work with you to move better and feel supported to get after your goals with safety and smarts.
Where we start
Your 1:1 initial appointment
In this first 60-minute appointment, we begin by understanding your background, injury history and goals.
Using physical assessments, we will diagnose your conditions, and with hands-on treatment and pain management techniques, we will help ease your pain and get you moving comfortably again.
How we keep moving
Your personalised plan
We get you the insights you need to move your best, working with you every step to get you there. Your physiotherapist will create your treatment plan based on your injury and goals; the number of sessions will vary and your plan will be updated as you progress. Follow-up sessions typically last for 30 minutes.

Your questions, answered
-
Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?
No referral is needed for private appointments. A referral is only required if you’re claiming through Medicare (EPC), DVA, or Workers Compensation.
-
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows movement and access to the injured area—for example, shorts for lower limb injuries or a singlet for shoulder concerns.
-
What happens in the first session?
Your physiotherapist will take a detailed history, complete a physical assessment, and begin treatment. You’ll also receive a clear plan outlining your rehab and next steps.
-
How long are physiotherapy sessions?
Initial appointments are 60 minutes. Follow-up sessions are usually 30 minutes, though 60-minute options are available depending on your needs.
-
Can I use private health insurance?
Yes. If you have extras cover, physiotherapy can be claimed on the spot through our HICAPS system.
-
Is physiotherapy covered by Medicare?
Yes, with a valid Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) referral from your GP. This provides up to five subsidised sessions each calendar year.
-
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on your injury and goals. Your physio will outline an expected timeline in your first session and adjust it as you progress.
-
Do you treat sports injuries?
Yes. We specialise in sports physiotherapy, including acute injuries, overuse conditions, and return-to-sport rehab
-
Can I continue training during rehab?
In most cases, yes. We’ll help you keep moving safely, guiding how to modify your training and when it’s safe to progress
-
Do you communicate with my GP or specialist?
Yes. With your consent, we’ll share progress updates and collaborate with your healthcare team to support your recovery.
