Rehab Running
Rehab Running provides structured, supervised sessions to help you return to running safely and effectively. We focus on rebuilding physical capacity, restoring confidence, and reducing the risk of reinjury – so you’re not just running again, but running well.
What is it
Structured return to running
Rehab Running sessions are carefully designed programs that gradually reintroduce running load, improve technique, and address physical limitations. Individualised sessions include technical feedback, load monitoring, and sport-specific guidance where appropriate, helping you progress safely toward your running goals.
Where we start
Your 1:1 initial appointment
We recommend starting with an initial 1-on-1 screening session with an accredited exercise physiologist. During this assessment, we’ll review your injury history, running background, and current fitness to create a plan tailored to your needs. From there, you’ll attend group-based rehab running sessions aligned with your injury and running goals.
How we keep moving
Your personalised plan
Your rehab running program is structured to gradually build capacity and confidence, including:
Individualised sessions
Technical feedback on running form
Load monitoring and progression
Sports-specific exercises where applicable

Your questions, answered
-
What are rehab running sessions?
Rehab running sessions are structured, supervised programs designed to help you return to running safely after injury. They gradually reintroduce load, refine technique, and address any physical limitations—so you can run with confidence again.
-
Who are these sessions for?
These sessions are for anyone recovering from a running-related injury or lower limb issue (e.g. stress fractures, tendon injuries, ACL rehab) who’s ready to return to sport or recreational running.
-
Do I need to be pain-free before starting?
Not always. We’ll assess your readiness and guide you through a plan that considers your current symptoms, ensuring every step is safe and right for your stage of recovery.
-
What’s included in a rehab running session?
Sessions may include warm-ups, running drills, technique coaching, walk-run intervals, and supplementary strength or mobility work—all tailored to your needs and goals.
-
How often do I need to attend?
It depends on your stage of rehab and goals. Some runners benefit from weekly supervised sessions, while others check in periodically alongside independent training.
-
Can I keep doing my gym or sport training as well?
In most cases, yes. We’ll help balance your overall training load to avoid setbacks and make sure everything supports your recovery goals.
-
Who runs the sessions?
Our rehab running sessions are delivered by accredited exercise physiologists with experience in both running and injury rehab.
-
Do you assess running technique?
Yes. Technique assessments are often part of the process, helping identify biomechanical issues that may contribute to injury or inefficiency.
-
How long until I can return to full training or competition?
Timeframes vary depending on your injury and how you respond to rehab. We’ll set clear milestones and adjust your plan based on your progress and how you feel.
-
Can these sessions be claimed through private health?
Yes. Sessions with our accredited exercise physiologists may be claimable if you have the appropriate private health extras cover.
